Coconut shell-based water purification charcoal has the characteristics of good wear resistance, high adsorption performance, long service life, etc. It has excellent performance for pure water and high-purity water purification. It is an ideal material for the electronics industry, food, beverage, beer and advanced water purification equipment.
The influence of coconut shell activated carbon raw materials is very important. Selected coconut shells or coconut shell carbonized materials are used as raw materials and activated by high-temperature steam in a converter. Since heteroatoms such as hydrogen and oxygen in the raw materials generate water in the reaction, the reaction rate with carbon atoms is greater than the diffusion degree of the reactants in the small pores, so that the pore wall is burned off, the micropores are reduced, and mesopores are produced. Heteroatoms escape as H2, CH4, CO and CO2, leaving behind a high-purity activated carbon pore structure. Purifying water with coconut shell activated carbon filter material adsorption method is to use its porous solid surface to adsorb and remove organic matter or toxic substances in the water to purify the water. Studies have shown that activated carbon has a strong adsorption capacity for organic matter in the molecular weight range of 500-1000. The adsorption of activated carbon on organic matter is affected by its pore size distribution and the characteristics of organic matter, mainly by the polarity and molecular size of organic matter. For organic matter of the same size, the greater the solubility and the stronger the hydrophilicity, the worse the adsorption of activated carbon to it. On the contrary, it has a stronger adsorption capacity for organic matter with low solubility, poor hydrophilicity and weak polarity, such as benzene compounds and phenolic compounds.
